How Backup Bird gained 152% more users
We had to focus on the major markets where the volume in relation to searches was significantly higher in Denmark. A targeted focus on the USA created a doubling of users.
Longtail keywords & link building
We started by identifying which keywords we should focus on in relation to our SEO work. We quickly realized that there needed to be an increased focus on long-tail keywords. Here we were able to answer some of the users’ issues with reference to the backup system itself.
The US is generally more competitive than the Danish market. It was therefore essential that we had a plan in place to acquire relevant inbound links and execute on the plan for day 1.
This resulted in our average ranking on selected keywords going from 126 to 26 in just 4 months of intensive SEO work.

Results
After just a few months of work, we could see that our strategy was attracting relevant visits. We therefore needed to convert these visits into active users on the system (trial). We therefore started with targeted conversion optimization, where we could identify which features the users considered most important.
After that, we also focused on Display advertising, where we could communicate what the system could help them and their business with. This was done both to previous visits to the website and potential customers based on Custom Intent Audience.
